HISbox: The modular combiner box.

Modular & scalable
The modular design allows for precise configurations for different applications and performance areas. This enables combiner boxes to be flexibly adapted and efficiently scaled from private to commercial / industrial rooftop and ground-mounted systems.
Integrable
Combiner boxes from HIS can be seamlessly integrated into existing plant concepts and are compatible with all common inverter systems – for maximum planning freedom and secure system integration.
Reliable
Manufacturing of combiner boxes in Germany with high-quality components from European production, controlled supply chains and expert, personalized advice ensure consistent quality and reliable project implementation.
Combiner box for every system size
In utility scale plants, combiner boxes centrally combine strings, protect the DC side from overvoltages and short circuits, and enable efficient monitoring through string monitoring for quick fault localization.

You know what system size you are planning - we will find the right configuration
The HISbox product family includes DC and AC combiner boxes for photovoltaic systems of all sizes. From residential to commercial & industrial to utility-scale projects, HIS offers suitable solutions for the merging of DC strings and the distribution of AC power.
DC Combiner Boxes

Fireman Switch: The Fireman Switch expands DC Combiner Boxes with a central safety feature for PV rooftop systems. It allows reliable DC disconnection in defined situations and, depending on the execution, can also automatically switch on and off via a motorized disconnect switch. In case of emergency, the DC lines are specifically de-energized so that emergency personnel can work safely and risks to people and buildings are effectively minimized.
HDC Disconnect Switches (CTS): HDC Disconnect Switches ensure safe DC disconnection within industrial PV systems, thus making a significant contribution to system safety. They consolidate multiple string outputs. DC circuits can be shut down in a controlled manner, significantly reducing risks during operation and maintenance work.
Overvoltage Protection Boxes (SPD): Overvoltage Protection Boxes are PV combiner boxes with overvoltage protection and integrate this directly on the DC side of the system. They target transient voltage spikes and thereby reduce the electrical load on connected components.

AC Combiner Boxes

Grid & Plant Protection (HNA / HECI): At the interface between photovoltaic system and public grid, reliable protection functions are crucial. Grid & Plant Protection systems with HNA technology monitor relevant grid parameters and ensure standard-compliant shutdown in case of deviations. This guarantees a secure grid connection and stable plant operation.
SCADA & Weather Stations: For transparent plant operation, reliable measurement data is essential. SCADA systems and weather stations record plant and environmental data in real time and make it centrally available. They form the basis for monitoring, analysis, and data-based operational management.
EMS Boxes: When energy flows need to be actively controlled, EMS Boxes are used on the AC side of the system. They take into account generation, consumption, and grid requirements, enabling flexible, demand-oriented operation. This makes it possible to exploit efficiency potentials in a targeted manner.
Backup Boxes: In the event of a grid failure, supply security becomes particularly important. Backup Boxes allow controlled switchover to an alternative power supply and ensure the power supply to critical consumers. This keeps operations stable even in exceptional situations.
Coffrets: Clear AC cabling is the foundation for safe and maintenance-friendly plant setup. Coffrets support structured cable routing and reliably protect electrical connections. This simplifies installation, service, and long-term operation.
NSHV (Low Voltage Main Distribution): For larger photovoltaic systems, a central power distribution is required. The NSHV consolidates inputs and outputs on the AC side and integrates defined switching and protection functions. This creates a scalable and robust AC infrastructure.

Smart monitoring in generator junction boxes
Detect problems at an early stage, optimize yields and reduce maintenance costs - intelligent generator junction boxes (GAKs) are evolving from simple protection devices to the digital control center of modern PV systems. A development that is fundamentally changing the monitoring of solar parks.

Sizing of Generator Junction Boxes
When planning large-scale PV systems, the correct dimensioning of generator junction boxes (GAK) is a key decision. While standard solutions are sufficient for many applications, complex projects often require customized configurations. The trick is to recognize when which approach is the right one.
